Introduction to Solar and inverter systems
The layman’s understanding of solar energy is that it absorbs the sun rays and converts it to electricity. It is definitely not that simple, which is why at cloud security technology, we would be task your mind with lessons on installation and maintenance of solar and inverter technology. Our aim is that by the end of the training, a participant would be well versed practically in the following:
- Know and understand the difference between pure sinewave, approximate and quasi-sinewave inverters.
- Understand how to deliver a solar panel and inverter installation.
- Know and understand the specifications of solar and inverter systems and how to apply these specifications
- Know and understand inverter batteries, specifications of batteries and battery technology.
- Know and understand the calculations involving inverter load and power estimations.
- Know, understand and differentiate between the mono-crystalline and the polycrystalline solar panels.
The solar and inverter training will cover all aspects of solar energy and how to apply the various skills acquired during this training. These are the areas we would cover concerning this postulation:
INTRODUCTION TO SOLAR TECHNOLOGY:
- Various types of solar cables and charge controllers which includes installation and application
INTRODUCTION TO INVERTER SYSTEMS:
- Types and Brands of inverters, functions and technical specifications
VARIOUS CATEGORIES OF INVERTER BATTERIES
- The various types of batteries which include deep cycle, engine start and sealed lead acid batteries
THE VARIOUS TOOLS WHICH WILL AID IN THE EASY INSTALLATION OF THE SOLAR PANELS, INVERTER AND INVERTER BATTERIES:
- The various measurement tools and devices that will be required in measuring solar and inverter.
SOLAR ENERGY SITES WHERE SKILLS ACQUIRED WILL BE TESTED:
- The applicants shall be taken to actual solar energy installation sites where real time practical tests will be conducted.
PRACTICAL EXERCISES WHICH INCLUDE CONNECTING CHARGE CONTROLLERS, SERIES AND PARALLEL BATTERY CONNECTIONS, MAKING SOLAR CABLES:
- Cascading batteries, load to point connection for inverter setup, load tests and feedback.
Control System.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND INSTALLATION:
- This is actually a very important aspect, most likely the most important because this is the foundation at which everything can go wrong. First of all, safety first!!! When dealing with electrical power, there is exposure to the risk of electric shock, battery explosion and fire. We would provide your mind with first class knowledge of how to avoid these instances which also includes all the electrical safety requirements on most especially the installation of inverters.
SOLAR AND INVERTER DESIGN:
- This area covers the estimation of inverter capacity and load requirements for specific household and basic inverter stand alone tests, estimating solar and inverter specification and power requirements of given loads.
INSTALLATION OF INVERTER:
- This area will cover mounting and erecting of the solar panels, connecting the solar panels to the inverter, interfacing the solar charge controller to the inverter, interfacing the inverter to the building mains and making sure there is electrical load isolation from the mains circuit breaker. This is a very important area.
SOLAR AND INVERTER BUSINESS SETUP:
- This area involves learning how to set up a solar energy business, adoption of various marketing strategies to boost sales and for development of business, purchase and distribution of reliable and authentic products, providing after sales service to clients.
PROJECT EXERCISE ON SOLAR AND INVERTER ESTIMATION AND CAPACITY:
- We call this the stand alone project because applicants will be required on their own to estimate capacity of inverter, capacity of battery, the number of solar panels required for a particular power rating of a job. All these will be implemented under close supervision.
